Good afternoon CIAC members,
The district has been evaluating a number of committees that have been in place to identify overlap and redundancy in an effort to operate as effectively and efficiently as possible. Through reflection, we realize that the information and content discussed and shared by the Curriculum Instruction and Assessment Committee is communicated in a number of ways on a regular basis through teacher and building newsletters, our Quality Profile, Bear Updates, and monthly Board of Education reports and presentations. Families and community members are always welcome to ask questions about our curriculum and instruction at any time, with or without a committee in place.
Therefore, we have determined that there is no longer a need to gather a group together twice per year to share information that has already been communicated to families and constituents in some way. Jeff and I will continue to provide our Board of Education with monthly reports on where we are at as a district with curriculum and instruction, and we welcome the opportunity to visit with our PTA units once or twice per year for the same purpose. We ask that the PTA representatives on this email communication share this information with your presidents, so that we can be invited to meetings in the future. Additionally, there is no longer a need to establish a representative for this committee in subsequent school years.
We thank you for being a part of this group, and for your continued support of North Royalton City Schools. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to either Jeff or me with any questions.
Thank you and Go Bears!Melissa Vojta, Assistant SuperintendentJeffrey Cicerchi, Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction
