Miami East

__________ Tip received 12/2/25: This was sent home from school on Friday regarding the gifted program my son is in. I seriously feel I have opened Pandora’s box with Brain Pop, and what I thought was a wonderful, insulated, wholesome school district is not! You probably know all about Brain Pop, but I have recorded all of the inappropriate and biased videos that were available to ELEMENTARY students and are still available to ELEMENTARY teachers to show. I am giving Jonathan Newman a flash drive with all of these videos on it later this week per his request.
Here is the final word count in the book. The end of the book has the anti semitic comments that are occurring during a protest against World War II in Washington D.C. with no clear explanation as to why they are being said especially for an elementary aged student that knows little to nothing about World War II. Miami east also uses the American Library Association for their guidelines for placing books in the school library. My son came home with this book earlier this week. I have to spend at least 3 hours reading this book and filling out the forms to have it removed as opposed to the administration just removing it when the school most likely spent 5 minutes vetting the book to place it on the shelf. The F bomb is completely inappropriate in an elementary aged book!!!! The author tells the reader at the beginning of the book to say “bleep” instead of the intended word.
